Double the security with mechatronics and electronicsThe alarm system that helps you feel at homeWho knew alarm systems could be so beautiful?

Wireless alarm system Secvest 2WAY protects apartments & houses

The VdS Home-certified Secvest 2WAY wireless alarm system sets standards in burglar alarm systems: ideal for retrofitting existing buildings, can be intuitively operated, and is easy to remove. Unique: mechatronic components counter intruders with mechanical resistance and simultaneously trigger an alarm.

State-of-the-art wireless alarm technology

The Secvest 2WAY communicates wirelessly via a secure wireless connection. All data is transmitted over a frequency reserved for security systems. This means that mobile phones and radio waves cannot affect the systems. The alarm system can also be installed in just a few hours, with no wires or mess.

Retrofitting of mechanical security products is possible at any time. You can flexibly expand your alarm system and enjoy even more security. If you need to move at any point, you simply unscrew the wireless components and take them with you.

Active protection from burglars with mechatronic components

ABUS relies on the fusion of mechanics and electronics. That’s why for the Secvest 2WAY alarm system, we have combined detector components with mechanical bolts. Mechatronic safeguards mounted on windows, glazed doors or entry doors resist breaking and entering with up to one ton of pressure, making intrusion almost impossible. Secvest 2WAY is the first alarm system that reports even initial attempts at manipulation and thus enables active burglar protection. The building is already secured and actively protected from the outside.

The success story of the Secvest 2WAY

The Secvest 2WAY from ABUS is the best-selling alarm system in Germany. The system offers everything, from a good price-performance ratio to simple installation, user-friendly operation and elegant design to extensive functionality with perimeter monitoring and mechatronic intrusion protection. This was confirmed not least by the renowned Protector Award in Gold, which in 2013 went to the Secvest 2WAY in the category of danger alarm system.

As much security as you need

The Secvest 2WAY is one of the most widely installed wireless alarm systems in Germany. It convinces with a large range of features, ease of use and an attractive price-performance ratio.

It provides you with complete protection for your home through the great diversity of components with a combination of mechanical and electronic protection:

  • Wireless alarm panel: It is the heart and brain of the alarm system, in which the programming is also carried out. The status information of the detectors is processed here; in case of alarm, the sirens are activated and the alarm is reported via communication channels such as SMS.
  • Operating units: Different control units can also control the alarm system, which is particularly useful for arming and disarming at the front door using wireless remote control, using the control panel directly on the front door or by means of an additional door lock.
  • Detectors: Reliably report opening, movement, water, smoke, vibration or breakage to the alarm panel.
  • Alarming: In case of an alarm, sirens give audible and visual signals that both drive away attackers and alert security services.

Seven preconceptions about alarms

1. The system won't work when I need it to.

State-of-the-art burglar alarms monitor themselves and report all incidents. These include, for example, a weak battery, outages in the wireless network, manipulation or sabotage. The alarm panel also monitors the connected components to ensure they are working correctly.

2. Installing an alarm will wreck my apartment. It will look as if thieves have already broken in.

Wireless systems operate without cables and installation is clean. No messy wires are needed and walls do not need to be broken through. Installation of a wireless alarm system in a detached house usually takes just one day. Ideally, wired alarm systems are installed when the building is under construction. If you would like to retrofit an alarm, the best thing to do is contact an alarm expert, who can advise you on how best to install a system under the prevailing structural conditions.

3. An alarm system is expensive.

This is not true. Alarm systems are not as expensive as you think. ABUS offers self-install starter alarm kits. However, an alarm system that is installed by an expert offers more flexibility and security. Seek advice from one of our certified technicians, and ask about the most convenient solution to suit your needs. Remember how much you have invested in your PC, television or kitchen, and just how much frustration and money an alarm system can save, when it comes to replacing stolen goods.

4. An alarm system is complicated to operate.

Arming and disarming an alarm system can be linked with modern electronic lock cylinders. This means that unlocking a door and simultaneously disarming the burglar alarm system is a simple process that happens at the turn of the key in the door lock. Locking the door with synchronous activation of the burglar alarm system works in exactly the same way. This means that you do not have to operate the alarm system separately, but it is simply integrated into your daily movements.

5. I don't have anything worth stealing.

But you do have something that can be damaged. The damage caused by a break-in usually costs more to repair than replacing what was stolen. Victims also suffer the trauma after having been robbed. Many of our customers say that they no longer feel safe after a break-in.

6. An alarm system attracts thieves.

Rest assured: alarm systems deter thieves. Most break-ins are carried out by opportunists. Unprotected houses with unalarmed windows and doors are an invitation to burglars. Why should thieves run the risk of being caught when they are more likely to get away with breaking into unprotected houses?

7. False alarms cause all sorts of trouble.

Alarm systems from ABUS are state-of-the-art and are guaranteed against malfunctions: Duplex antenna technology ensures extremely stable wireless communication between all components. Wireless alarm system transmit on a reserved frequency, which means that they are immune to external interference from baby monitors and mobile phones. Even storms do not interfere with the system. Sophisticated user concepts and reliable detectors provide additional protection against false alarms. A state-of-the-art wireless alarm system that is installed and maintained by an expert will not trigger any false alarms in 99.5 percent of cases.

Why is it worthwhile installing an alarm system?

A burglary attempt takes place every minute in Germany. Despite this alarming statistic, about 96 percent of all houses and apartments are not yet protected by an alarm system. According to police statistics, however, the effectiveness of alarm systems is undisputed.

In 2008, for example, the Bavarian Office of Criminal Investigations examined the effectiveness of alarm systems and security technology. The results show that 1367 break-ins were prevented. This figure is probably a lot higher, as many criminals are deterred straight away once they see that a security system is installed.
